MarLEN had the opportunity to participate in the London International Shipping Week 2025, taking place from September 9-13, 2025.
The project showcased its innovative approach to maritime decarbonisation at one of the industry’s most prestigious events, demonstrating how cross-border collaboration is accelerating the transition to zero-emission shipping.
MarLEN’s presence at LISW25 was marked by two key participations that highlighted the project’s role in shaping the future of sustainable shipping. The project was prominently featured at the Innovate UK and Department for Transport‘s “Clean Maritime Day” stand at Central Hall, Westminster, where team members engaged with maritime industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators in meaningful discussions about the future of clean maritime.
The showcase stand attracted significant attention from visitors eager to learn about MarLEN’s comprehensive approach to maritime energy transition. It was an incredible opportunity to share the project’s work and engage in conversations about practical pathways to decarbonisation, with the team truly inspired by the energy and innovative spirit of everyone they met.
The highlight of MarLEN’s LISW25 participation came during session 1 on “Decarbonisation Technologies,” part of the broader discussion on “Role of International Collaboration and Research for the Transition to Net-Zero Shipping.” James Lovett (Innovate UK ) spoke about MarLEN, presenting it as a prime example of how joining forces across borders can accelerate progress in maritime decarbonisation.
The panel discussion was expertly moderated by Professor Evangelos Boulougouris from the University of Strathclyde and brought together leading voices from across the maritime sector:
